UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD

Graves are silent
Because they don’t have life
The hearts therein
Much they contain
But you know not because you were not told

Intense are the stares
Much tension in the air
Because how to break it they know not
In their hearts there’s much
But you know not, because you are never told

At the thought my tears fall
Yet you wonder why the many calls
This far I have come
Because of that which you’ve done
But you know not, because you are never told

Much money I can’t give
Because expensive is the life you live
Love and care I can’t feed
Because infinite is the much you need
But I want you to know, because now you are told

To you is my infinite gratitude
For your untold fortitude
Through which I reach this altitude
Without which I’d be in solitude
Now you know, because you I have told

BROKEN

Dirty, filthy and unworthy

Deliberately taking the wrong path

A stray sheep in the wilderness

Just to satisfy the flesh desires
Assuming the hurt of the Spirit
Blocking the ears to the call of God
Swimming in the sea of sin
Not appreciating the death on the cross
Reading the word but making no sense out of it
Or rather not taking heed of it
Clearly hearing the voice from above
But brushing the fatherly love aside
Sincerely seeking God’s face
But not reaching out for the outstretched hand
No words to best describe this
But bet this gives the picture
A picture of eyes open
Heart ready to turn back from sin
Soul rendered to Christ
Body surrendered as a sacrifice
A spirit broken and crushed to pieces
Because this is the best sacrifice to offer
Sorry is not the word here
Broken, Contrite and crushed, I lay it all down
No amount of tears can wash my pain
No amount of words can describe how I feel
No one can understand my state
The state of a lost child,
The condition of a rebellious child
A son ready to come home, prodigal we can say
It hurts to know I hurt my father
It breaks the heart to remember what I have done
Yet it’s so sweet to see the tears of the Spirit
Tears that wipe away the grief caused
To know that the father’s arms are open
Open to welcome me home
How nice it is to be in those arms again
Security assured, Love overflowing
Strength guaranteed, Future insured
Awesome is the father’s love
Love unfailing forgiving all sins to remember them no more
Making me one with Christ
Uncondemning love, cleansing all stains
And making me a new creation
Though I walk through the dark valley
I shall fear no evil
For with me is the assurance of Your presence
My heart’s desire
That I may stray never again
But dwell in thy house forever
To worship You with all I am
And to spend eternity with You
Broken and contrite
That’s my spirit.

SILVER

Silver  oh  silver
Where did you get your name?
Where did you come from?
Where can you be found?
Why do you torment us?
When are you responding to my questions?

You were made by man
Yet you make man run mad
Don’t you have human nature?
Oh! You aren’t human
So what are you?

Nothing compares to wisdom
Yet you wisely take it away from man
Your sight so captivating
Your name so alluring
What are you made of?

You darken the paths of kings
Writhing their hearts out of their chest
Squeezing humanity out of them
Leaving them void and empty headed
Why are you so inhuman?

You set brothers against each other
Breeding hatred in hearts of families
Cousins sitting on each other’s head
Sons not caring for their oldies
Are you really worth it?

Because of you, young flowers rid themselves of their beauty
Briefly garmented each day
Miserably posting themselves at street corners
Shamelessly hawking themselves at a pauper’s price
Seriously! Don’t you think you are denying them their innocence?

Because of you the pillars of homes are fallen
Strong gigantic men are beheaded
No more strong shoulders to lean on
No more role models for the baby generation
Can’t you just be fair for once?

Now this is my intuition
It’s you who’ve brought it back
Revived Sodom and Gomorrah ,the fallen cities
Pairing men with men, women with women
Defying nature. So what’s your promise to them?

You create greed, they call you corruption
You snatch us food, they call you hunger
Kings make you their bed, they say it’s inflation
You cause jealousy, they say it’s competition
Why are you so cunning?

I don’t say you are bad
But can you stop all these confusion
You make life easy, you keep us busy
Because of you we aren’t lazy

In wisdom you make kings rise
In foolishness you make them crumble
In wisdom you stir knowledge and insight
In foolishness people walk in darkness
You can create honor yet you can also cause misery

Those who seek wisdom find you
Those who seek you are hurt
Those who find wisdom lack you not
Those who find you lose wisdom
Yet you belong to wisdom
